Christian Caicedo, DMD
Dr. Christian Caicedo grew up watching dentistry transform lives—and it started at home. With a mother who practiced dentistry, he witnessed firsthand the confidence a healthy smile could give a patient and the relationships a trusted dentist could build over a lifetime. That early foundation ignited a passion for the intersection of science, artistry, and compassionate care that has guided every step of his career.
Dr. Caicedo earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry, one of the most respected programs in his home state. He considers his time there formative—not only for the rigorous clinical training and diverse patient experience it provided, but for the lasting professional relationships he built with classmates and colleagues now practicing throughout the Chicagoland area and North Shore. Those connections continue to support a network of trusted referrals and collaborative care today.
Committed to expanding what he can offer patients, Dr. Caicedo has pursued extensive continuing education well beyond the requirements of licensure. He completed over 300 hours of advanced implant training through the Chicago Implant Institute, with focused study in both implant placement and restoration. He has also completed advanced coursework in extractions, wisdom tooth removal, and root canal therapy—enabling him to handle a wide range of complex procedures in-house. Additionally, Dr. Caicedo is certified in oral conscious sedation and is trained in CEREC same-day crown technology, which he looks forward to implementing to further streamline the patient experience. He is an active member of the American Dental Association and participates in local professional dental organizations throughout the North Shore.
At Northbrook Family Dental, Dr. Caicedo has built a practice rooted in one core belief: that exceptional dental care begins with trust. He takes a patient-centered approach that prioritizes honest communication, thorough education, and individualized treatment planning. Whether working with a patient who hasn’t seen a dentist in years or someone managing ongoing dental anxiety, Dr. Caicedo meets each person where they are—creating a calm, judgment-free environment and taking care one step at a time. His goal is never to pressure, but to partner with patients in making informed decisions that align with their health, comfort, and goals.
One of Dr. Caicedo’s greatest strengths is the breadth of services he provides under one roof. From general and preventive dentistry to dental implant placement, surgical extractions, cosmetic treatments, and sedation dentistry, his practice is designed to reduce the need for referrals and give patients the continuity of care they deserve. He approaches cosmetic and functional dentistry as deeply connected—establishing health and function first, then collaborating with patients on aesthetic goals that complement their natural smile and long-term well-being.
Dr. Caicedo chose to establish his practice in Northbrook because of his deep connection to the North Shore community—both professionally and personally. Having worked in the area for several years and living locally, he understands and shares the values of the families he serves. He is passionate about giving back, with plans to participate in local health fairs, support area schools, and engage with organizations like the Northbrook Chamber of Commerce. His vision is for his practice to be not only a destination for quality dental care, but a positive, active contributor to the community he calls home.
Away from the office, Dr. Caicedo is a devoted husband and father. He and his wife love to travel—exploring new cultures both domestically and internationally—and he enjoys staying active and discovering new restaurants. Most of all, he treasures time with his family: his 2-year-old daughter, Sofia, and their baby boy, arriving this October.
